I understand the Mini. I’ve driven one. I can understand a Mini with some cojones. But I can’t understand a hopped-up convertible. The structural stiffness is gone, but it’s overpowered for what it is. Is it just me?

It’s not just you. If I were to get a drop-top Mini, I’d be going for the more luxury-oriented options, rather than the sporty options. If it was a hardtop however, I’d go for something like the JCW.

Of course, that’s all relative, because I’m not spending 63 grand on a subcompact.
